Madman Mailing List wrote:Hi All,
Thank you to the overwhelming number of people who shopped in Madman's recent "$10 per disc 10th Anniversary Sale"!
In fact, the response was so overwhelming that our servers struggled with the load, and as a result many people were unable to make their desired purchases.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our valued fans and customers who missed out, and as such we are offering you a brief window of opportunity to actually complete your lost orders! Just follow these steps:
1. Point your web browser to http://www.madman.com.au/birthdaySale.jsp to activate our special discount pricing
2. Shop around the site, add items to your cart and proceed to the checkout as normal
If you follow the above link and don't see our special pricing, you can activate the discount using the coupon code 'MAD10BDS' on your shopping cart page.
Discounted orders will be accepted until midnight, Thursday 9th November 2006. We expect the servers may also be quite busy during some of this time, so if you are unsuccessful, please try back later.
Please note, November new release titles and preorders are excluded from this offer. No backorders will be accepted for out of stock items. The offer only applies to Madman DVD titles (including Madman DVD box-sets.)
Any enquiries sent regarding orders or payments will be attended to from Wednesday 8th November (Tuesday is a Public Holiday in Victoria). Orders will be dispatched starting Wednesday 15th November and should be completed within 10 days from this date. If you have any further concerns, you may contact our customer service at [email protected].
Once again we apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
If you are aware of any other Madman customers who missed out on the sale because of technical difficulties, please feel free to share this email with them.
Sincerely,
The Madman Team

A fortnight after ordering and mine is still waiting to be shipped and all it consists of it the Azumanga Daioh box set..
Mappy wrote:What about Rasberry's order? That was so big that I'd almost put money on there being items missing when it does finally arrive....
Ryan White wrote:Rasberry, threaten to call the ACCC. It is illegal under the Trade Practices act and Australian common law for them to advertise a product and then refuse to sell it to you once you accept their offer. The took your cash, now they have to pony up the goods.

Myself wrote:My first order was: MA##### (Which BTW took 1.5 Hours to complete because of the server)
And My second was: MA#####
Both have been "Awaiting despatch" for over a week. While my mother who ordered after me (even my second order) has already received her's.
Shipping even from the US maximum take a week( 7 Days ). But from the looks of this it has not even been shipped.
Orders should be shipped in the order they were invoiced. It has now been 20 days since I placed my order payment has already been taken over 2 weeks ago and still no goods.
People In my local anime club have even had items pulled from their orders why the full amount has been billed.
For a lot of people this is going to go down as the birthday of pain and suffering.
Disgruntled Regards.

Seriously, they are only pissing off their target market, here. How many people are going to have "customer loyalty" to them after this? I'm starting to believe they didn't have half the things they'd put up for sale....
Ryan White wrote:It's definitely obvious all they wanted to do was clear out a warehouse filling up with anime dvds people thought were overpriced.

Half of which were probably Heat Guy J boxsets to begin with....

Is that "got" as in "already received" or "paid good money for it and still haven't got my hands on it, yet"?

I somehow doubt the original topic of Mendes's thread is still being discussed, anymore.
