for those who do not know the lengths of the anime that are up for vote:
combat butler hayate - 52
bishounen vs 'ugly' girl - 25
if combat butler hayate wasn't so long, i'd be tempted to vote to keep it but i doubt the joke can remain funny for that long

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge's likely replacement (if it gets voted down) will be Nodame Cantabile. I'm not sure what Hayate's likely replacement will be.

Utawarerumono and the 1st season of Code Geass are almost at an end, too. Time to start thinking about what to replace them with.

This could turn ugly....if Hayate gets voted off, I have a replacement, which will not please Bazza....

What??? Higurashi S2 was what I was thinking of. However Mamoru-kun is also a good choice for replacement for one of the two completing shows.

Also, if one of the shows gets voted off, I would like to hold off the commencement of the replacement until after Code Geass has finished. There is no point in playing two episodes and then skipping a week as the last episode of CG is of double length. Who votes for double Death Note??

I doubt Hayate will be voted off, even with it being 52 episodes long. Though I'd suggest voting again when we reach somewhere around episode 25.

Higurashi Kai = Utawarerumono replacement. Also possible: Ghost Hunt, Mushishi, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Gankutsuou, Solty Rei, Ergo Proxy, Noein, Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, Lovely Complex, Basilisk and a plethora of other titles we are yet to consider. It's the last spot on the playlist. In short, that means it is open season on choice.

The trouble with Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei is that we might catch up to the subbers. In a 12 episode series of which 11 episodes have aired. Yes, this series is taking the scenic route to subbing completion.

From what Mappy suggested:

Mushishi, Gankutsuou, Solty Rei, Ergo Proxy, Noein. I like those as replacements for finishing or booted series.

Hayate Spoilers:
Hayate loses the butler outfit, and gains a French maid cat-girl type outfit at least once throughout the series. Also, we get to see Maria's thighs at least once.
For these reasons I will be voting the show on.

...What about playing Nanoha SI in one of the up-coming empty slots? Contrary to popular belief it is in fact safe for general viewing. 8)

And why would that be? I dare say Nanoha has far more taste attatched to it then a certain English-dubbed anime about an African-American samurai that has been played recently. Plus, the soundtrack is made of awesome and Nana Mizuki. 8)

Did I mention Pirate Man downloaded Kodomo no Jikan 1? Before you start having a go at Nanoha, perhaps a bit of download behaviour modification might be in order. 8)

Seirei no Moribito and Soukou no Strain are also possible playlist items.

If we want to bring people in and not cause conflict with distributors and such, it would be best to stay away from these titles as they are already airing on TV.

Solty Rei might fit into this category as well very soon.

Not that we haven't done that before. :shifty:

Though ME has become increasingly fascist of late....

Ergo Proxy and Noein are airing on ABC2. This means a good 65% of the (local) world wouldn't know they were airing because of their distinct lack of access to digital television.

And we should have played them by now, anyway....

It's funny, I've always thought the other way around. :?

How many ecchi shows are on the playlist now?

I think you'll find that violence is more likely to be shown that ecchi or plot orientated anime.

Because you can only stand Vincent Law when you don't recognize that he sounds like (and is) an mürrisch.

If you haven't figured that out within one episode, you'd have to be brain dead. The mürrisch Vincent and the goth Re-L, a couple that deserve each other.

English Vincent is more of an mürrisch than Japanese Vincent. It's just the way they chose to have his tone of voice. The Japanese version seemed to be more of an optimist.

I don't find Vincent to be that mürrisch at all, having watched only the Japanese language version. More like a guy who wants things to go well stuck in a situation where everything isn't....

And never criticise The Mayer. 8)

Well, it is a sign that people are actually starting to feel compelled to think about what they want to see. It also didn't hurt that we actually told people what we would be replacing shows with if they voted them off.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge was interesting, never seen an anime like that one before. It was funny too.
