Forum Sp0iler tags?

by Bazza » Fri Oct 06, 2006 12:36 pm

I think we could do with spoiler tags (especially in the anime & manga sub-forums), not unlike the ones used on that AMV discussion forum and elsewhere. We don't want to ruin our playlists for the newbies do we? :D

Have there been any particular spoilers for any particular shows that has motivated you to suggest this?

Apart from Barron's succint description of Giniro no Kami no Agito. 8)

Not yet. Prevention is better then cure, especially in this case as the only cure for spoileritis is a severe knock to the head. ;)

Suffice to say, if a subject is posted about a particular show/manga/etc that has been made within the last couple of years, and therefore within the realms of the possibility of not having been seen by forum users, then mod spoiler editing will be considered. Reviews excepted, which should go without saying.

Spoiler tags would allow us to discuss episodes people may not have seen more freely.

I thought we had a major discussion on this issue before in old AVCON forums. The idea was either mark your spoliers with "*~SPOILER~*" or colour it white in a quote box, which will mean people will have to highlight the writing to read it.

I think Bazza is talking about the type where a button marked "spoiler" is in the post and you have to click it to reveal the spoiler.

Is there anyway you can colour the black ground black or something, so you have to highlight the text to see the blackened background?

Its just manual at the moment, But if if you wrap text with
text to be hidden
it will hide just like on 4chan ;)

Blue is nicer on the eyes than red. However, nothing is worse than the royal blue and magenta combination.

You mean DANGER?

Yes, that does look a bit like you're trying to warn people about an imminent attack by clowns. 8)
