Well, seeing as I've managed to buy 3 volums so far from Pete, I'd have to say yes on both counts. I think Shin Tokyo also have copies. The publisher is ADV if I remember correctly.

Correct. There was a 4th published in Japan months ago but ADV has yet to translate it, no idea why. But ADV were so slack with releases of Chrono Crusade and Full Metal Panic, nothing surprises me about ADV anymore.

I think that it goes even higher than four but I can't remember how many volumes Stormy had in the original Japanese.

The action lines are done so cheaply in this manga. I prefer ones with more depicted action or when lacking that, more facial expression.
The best manga are when action is very dramatic and facial expressions deliver a precise emotion no matter who views it.

The cover is also lacking some design aspects (mainly ratios) but uses others like colour co-ordination really well.

Cover for vol 7

Triela and Claes were given visual modification to appear more matured for specific mission since the Republican terrorist cells now alert to Section 2 style of female children assassins.

Petrushka/Petra hard way learning of how deadly Claes can be if her glasses were touched.

This volume is much better than the previous. It has everything I said was lacking from the one before.

The cover even follows the principles of design much better but a bit of the anatomy looks off probably caused by that modification you mentioned.

The important thing is; does it have Henrietta in it? I don't recognize most of the people pictured.

Up to vol 7, Giuseppe is burnt out from his relationship with Henrietta, and vol 7 she is not around since she did not meet mission requirement. I am surprised you don't recognized Claes and Rico. Both were present in anime.

Just... not used to the art style I guess and those weird facial expressions... Looking at it knowing Claes is in there somewhere made her easier to find.

Mature Claes still looks very similar to the Claes I saw in the first few volumes, as does Triela. Claes's tank top.

Are those scanlations or did you get hold of another publisher from overseas?

Stormy has copies from Japan. It would be kind of silly to scanlate a Japanese manga into Japanese.

This manga is aimed at people like me...gun nuts. The detail the artists puts into drawing the guns makes up for any other shortfalls in my eyes. I have fun reading it just to identify all the different guns used and yes, I can identify all the guns pictures Stormy posted.

I just like it because:

1. Lots of people die.
2. It's cruel and very true to life (aside from carbon technology not being that advanced yet, but exploiting girls like that certainly is).
3. Twisted and dark portayls of a sinister, brooding modern world always do it for me.
4. It makes Italy look better than it is. Like a place that one could possibly live in relative comfort, which isn't the case in reality. *sigh*
5. It has teen girls doing crazy things, which suits me because I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them. And believe me, I can't throw.

I have vol 1-2 from ADV then 3-5 in Japanese since ADV was slow. Vol 6 and 7 is from other sources since there is no Kinokuniya here in Adelaide, which is primary source of my Japanese manga when I felt in the mood to read manga with huge dictionary on my lap and monitor.

Yeap, I still have to use dictionary since my Japanese is not great to start with. For example, Fate/Stay Night the game took me 6 months to finish since I was reading it slowly and keep cross referencing all the time plus the game's Japanese is hard to read.

The latest chapter of Gunslinger Girl is opening more history on Petrushka/Petra's handler, Alessandro ( I can't spell Italian names here, sorry) and why he disliked red hair girls.

PS: There is another girl which is not shown in anime, Beatrice who prefers Micro Uzis as primary. The only thing readers knew about her so far is her keen sense of smell. She only appeared in less than 3 pages in Vol 4.
