It's MA15+ due to Mikuru. What did you expect?! If Azumanga Daioh got MA15+, this had to.

The Office of Film and Literature Classification don't actually watch the titles they classify unless an appeal is made against the initial classification. There simply isn't the time to watch every movie, read every book and play every game released each year. What happens is the company sends a brief outline of the title to be reviewed highlighting any points that might impact upon classification.
Madman Entertainment needs to get their act together and learn how to write these briefs or their catalogue is going to continue to suffer due to their incompetence. What probably happened was a poor summary of Episode 00: The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina.

MA 15+ is perhaps the intelligence level required to watch Haruhi ?
I must feel proud about the things I choose ...,

Be it Ero-games , doujinshi , or clothes ; its all the SAME !

Lots of Fondling? Check
Lots of minderjährigen mädchen Characters? Check
Lots of Doujin Drawn featuring characters of the Series? Check

Just insert this into that comment and it strengthens the reason why its MA15+, just because this is 'normally' acceptable in Japan doesn't mean it would be acceptable here (Considering certain people have got busted in possessing porn/or trying to import it in Australia).

Frankly, I wouldn't want someone under 15 to see Haruhi. It's more than fine for us but for a raging warzone of hormones, it could be the equivalent of a submarine launched thermonuclear warhead.

Probably all the under 15's who would've been interested in buying it. Sad to say that downloading it from the net and burning it onto a dvd (not that I support that in a public forum  ) will probably result in a better-quality copy than anything M.E. will produce. Yes, my vol 4 of Azumanga Daioh is now cactus to go with vols 5 and 6. Thanks, Madman Entertainment.

After watching the dub I can now see why it got an MA15+ rating.

Skip to the scene where Haruhi aquires a computer.

Computer club: "Hey! We all saw what you did! You forced him! (onto Mikuru's chest). He's innocent! (etc, can't remember exactly what was said)

Haruhi: "Well, I'll just say you all ganged up and flocked her"

Ah yes, nothing earns a title an MA15+ rating faster than sexual assault.
