That sounds so completely bonkers and random that it might just work.

This series is by SHAFT, the studio that (mostly) brought us Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase, Pani Poni Dash and Negima?, but the randomness seems to work better in this show than it did any of those, especially in the interplay between a teacher incapable of seeing the bright side of anything and a student incapable of looking at the world any way but.
She even regards their first meeting, where she finds him trying to hang himself from a tree, as an example of his trying to make himself taller, just like both her parents tried to do several times.... A girl truly in Optimist Lalaland.

I predict that if it's licensed it will be turned into Welcome Back Kotter
Mel Gibson's remake of The Life of Brian is nowhere near as funny as the original.

You have to love a show about a suicidal teacher with a class full of students who all have the absolute extreme of every possible form of innately Japanese issues. Episode 2 has the OCD perfectionist class rep, the hikikomori girl (named Komori.... though she looks a bit like Osaka) and the stalker.... Whose lives change the moment the teacher tells them the best way to solve their problems is to kill themselves.... 8)

Not having kids in the first place would solve even more. Things get a lot quieter pretty damn fast. Though Children of Men would make you think otherwise.... 8)

Yes, except most of the fanservice is covered up with pictures of (I think) the director's face. 8)

No man, there is no censorship this time. Ep 4 is even more blatant.

I think I go and make myself taller right now :(.

Legendary one-liner from an anime, on par with 'THIS IS SPAAARRTTTA' from the comedy movie.

Well everytime I look at Diver Dan from Sea Change in that movie, I cant help but laugh myself silly, such a legendary movie on par with Terminator 2.

I reckon the anti-fanservice in Episode 6 is hilarious. :P

Just when you were getting used to it enough to whinge!

But I am quite enjoying this overall.

This show takes little digs at its target audience at every given opportunity. I can see Japanese otaku either hating this show or embracing it completely as they did with NHK....

Can't get enough of this show, which NHK should of been (which ended on a sour note, but not as bad as the manga with one of the main characters stripping every chapter after the anime). Enjoying this as much as watching the gory scenes in 300 XD.
I like the 2nd episode with the traveling interlude when Tsunetsuki went to check on her ex-boyfriend.

and the 3rd episode, with the refugee girl, I sold my everything, my name, my bags, my number... EVEN my pride !! Classic one liner there XD.
