New inc from Kon, Miyazaki and Genshiken

by Last Exile » Sun Oct 01, 2006 10:45 pm

Okay. We have something we need to get hold of next year. Satoshi Kon, the genius behind Paranoia Agent, Tokyo Godfathers, Millenium Actress and Perfect Blue, has made another movie, Paprika, to be released in March 2007 in the US, not sure when for Japan, probably soon. This site got an exclusive full screening of it. This site is usually hypercitical. For them to give it A+ for everything is astounding. I say this is at the top of eveyrone's to get list ASAP. Since it's a Kon piece, I'm willing to believe he may have created a real epic masterpiece.

WAH! Everything looks so nice! Hmm... hope Miyazaki will win another Oscar... or atleast earn more money than ET and Finding Nemo combined!

I saw Finding Nemo last week and was absolutely appalled. It wasn't funny, it wasn't entertaining, it was pointless. Nice animation alone does not a good movie make. Pixar and Dreamworks are living off past glories these days and that ticks me off so much. As if Disney wasn't bad enough.

I'll make Paprika the movie that we see on the first week back next year.
(If we can fit it in, we will have two movies on that night, the other being that miyazaki film).

And I bet that Finding Nemo was made for adults, like Sponge Bob Square Pants the movie. I aint surpised you didnt like it, cause

1. It aint anime
2. It hasnt got a half nekked chick in it like in WOW.

On the other hand, Jason, you liked it for all the nekkid fish. 8)

Seriously, just from its description I want Paprika in my collection NOW. Staring at the tub of it in my kitchen cupboad just isn't doing it for me. 8)
