I think the low attendance is due to it being closer to the end of the night rather than the shows in question.

Try putting Jormungand or Nazo No Kanojo at the end of the night for a few weeks and see what happens.

I do know that there are people who turn up simply to sit outside the meeting, rather than watch anything.... Or just watch one thing. One of the reasons I wish the screening room sat next to another room with seating, so we could have a more comfortable area for people just to socialise.

Although socialising and anime fans tend to be at the opposite ends of the spectrum. :shifty:

I have a feeling it might be more towards people getting ready for Avcon, so I'm letting it sit around for a while....however post-Avcon is anyone's guess...

In the case of Fate/Zero, it's that a lot of people have watched it in full already. Similar things happened with Code Geass and other big titles. But I think regardless of what we put on, there usually are lower numbers later in the night regardless of what's on. Fatigue, the need to stretch legs and to talk with others - particularly the talking - makes people sit out shows.

My only true concern is we haven't had new people show up in a while.

People that are outside from the start are the 1998 wave people. Difference between 1998-2002 wave people and 2006-present people has been well documented.

And yes, I didn't watch anything last night because I am very busy with AVCon.

I'm sure this colder than usual winter is scaring off people too.

And maybe since most of the playlist was April shows, people went and watched them in full in their own time after a few eps.

AJAS is as much a place for the people that come to catch up as well as watch something. Don't take things at face value. Remember how people thought the Macross movie didn't get a good response yet it finished highly?

Explain this to me... being one of these post-2006'ers...

I prefer to watch everything on the playlist even if it's not very good or if I have seen it already?

Hey, I am in the former group (first coming along in 2002) and I also prefer to watch everything that I have already watched already.
As for stuff I am not fond of... well at least I stay in the room.

But then, I've never been a social creature. AJAS is the only time I spend outside of home/work every week.

He has AVCon tournaments upcoming. I'm sure he wants to defend his Soul Calibur crown at the very least.

I'm not so sure, if you saw him tonight. He looked pretty sick.

So was Sam and has been for weeks now. But he is still fronting at all costs. Winter will do that to people. I haven't caught the flu/cold, thankfully. I did have a digestive system virus for close to all of June, though.

Wonder whether Crispin will somehow escape without catching anything?

By sick, I mean he looked like he was having a heart attack. Couldn't breathe properly, florid and all his veins were standing up in his neck/scalp. But yeah, he's apparently had the flu, so everyone at the meeting probably has it, now. 8)

Why do I have this sudden feeling I don't want to appear at AJAS on Tuesday night...

But sharing is caring. :D

I've never understood why the idea of wearing face masks in public if you're sick has never caught on over here. It makes sense to me. :hmmm:

Or do I just live in a part of the country where the native species has yet to invent medicine and health care practices?

Because people are vain and wearing a mask and potentially looking stupid is scarier than losing one's wellbeing. *shrug* That's people for you.

It was something much worse.

Actually just got out of hospital after a month and a bit today still can't believe that I'm still alive and pull through. Had something that was attacking my throid and my heart and everything is sort of back to normal lost 15-20kg lost the ability to run and walk still but I'm glad that somehow I'm one of the lucky ones.

It's taking much energy to even think and write this even though I'm home so I see ya when I'm better.

I was tempted to say "welcome to my world", but holy s.hit, man, that sounds nasty. All the best in recovering.
