Can I ask.... Just what does Russell Crowe have to do with Beowulf?

This version can't help but be better than the 1999 version.

Indeed. Celluloids died in the making of the Christopher Lambert version of Beowulf.

I do believe that would be Ray Winstone, the star of the film.

As Ray Winstone plays Beowulf, I'd suggest he's the one on the poster.

His filmography explains why that name isn't registering. :?

His filmography suggests British character actor.

Ironically he is going to play the lead role of Jack Regan in a remake of The Sweeney, of which an episode of the original series was his first credited filmed work. The role in the original was played by John "Inspector Morse" Thaw. I've seen the episode.

I've also seen Ray Winstone in Scum, Quadrophenia, Robin of Sherwood, Bergerac, Fairly Secret Army, Auf Wiedersehn Pet, C.A.T.S. Eyes, Minder, Birds of a Feather, Between the Lines, Murder Most Horrid, Space Precinct, Casualty, The Bill, Kavanagh QC, One Foot in the Grave, Nil By Mouth, The War Zone (not a pleasant film), Darkness Falls, Sexy Beast, At Home with the Braithwaites, Henry VIII, Cold Mountain and The Chronicles of Narnia. If you haven't seen at least one of those, then you should just give up pretending you watch anything at all.... 8)

How could you confuse Ray Winstone with Russell Crowe?
Do you need glasses?

Used them since 1993. And from a moving vehicle a tad after midnight, that was what he looked like in that poster.
