Anyone thinking of reducing their sig image size, yet?

by Mappy » Mon Aug 27, 2007 11:58 am

Because they're starting to get a bit big, again.

On another forum I lurk/troll, if a user has a signature that is too big, a moderator changes their over sized signature to an image that reads "Oops! My signature was too large. I'll use one no bigger then this next time". The image is exactly at the forum limit (468x60). Perhaps a similar system is in order?

Incidentally, I still have one of my signatures from that forum. Proof that you can make a decent signature in 60 pixels or less! 8)

My sig is on the limit , btw. >:3

My most recent one before this new one's 400X148, about the same size as the Pac-Man chart.

and to prove it:

new one's 300 X 60
Mel Gibson's remake of The Life of Brian is nowhere near as funny as the original.

234's not wide enough for what I had in mind, so I went with 300.

Which looks ridiculously small on this monitor, but does reduce bandwith use I guess.

The changes made by ppl have been fine. Bazza's sig is about as large as they should get, as the messages were getting to the point where a full two thirds to three quarters of their volume were sig image. Bazza's still are, but then he's not the sort to regularly post a thesis, is he? 8)

As mentioned earlier, my signature is at the maximum height limit of 125 pixels and 250 short of the maximum width limit of 700 pixels. It was one of my sigs that set the original guidelines anyway... 8)

No one starts with a signature so you've actually reduced it to 100% of its original size.
