How China is combatting pollution

by Last Exile » Thu Aug 09, 2007 5:22 pm

1. Banning 1 million cars per day.
2. Firing rocket shells into the air to induce rain....(just saw this on Ten News)

#1 makes sense but #2?! Are they for real...

Considering the majority of China's pollution comes billowing from the chimney stacks of their mind bogglingly huge factories, I'd say both of these are going to do pretty much Johnathon Faeces to stop every single athlete competing in these games from dying within hours of arrival at Beijing airport from black lung....

Oh, and #2 is to actually stop it raining in Beijing. August is in the middle of the monsoon/rainy season there. They showed pictures of most of the major transport routes for the Olympics through Beijing a couple of days ago, and they were, for the most part, almost entirely underwater. Considering the Olympics start on 8/8/08, I dare suggest the opening ceremony will comprise the tale of Noah and his Ark. That and every event will contain some aquatic component.

Just when you thought they'd removed synchronized swimming from the olympic lineup...
Mel Gibson's remake of The Life of Brian is nowhere near as funny as the original.

China's pollution is so bad it extends all the way to the west coast of the United States. That's across this little stretch of water called the Pacific Ocean.

We're all sorry to hear the Americans are copping it, aren't we? 8)

After they did such a good job of cleaning up their own pollution by exporting it to Mexico...

Why do I get the feeling China might resort to population reduction to fix this?

Probably because they've already reduced the population growth rate.

The Chinese were using those kind of tactics long before the Russians. When you have the numbers, the casualties don't matter. :P

I smell a conspiracy with China trying to wipe out the youth of the rest of the world with excessive lead and detatchable magnets in the Mattel toys.
