AVCon quiz night pizza's

by IceLee » Tue Jul 17, 2007 12:49 pm

Asurin just suggested that one of us could drive to Marcellina's and collect our own orders there instead of having the same pizza orders as APH... Who wants Marc's or APH? Is there anyone with a car handy?

also, if there is an overwhelming vote for Marc's, can someone please put up pizza list of Marc's and prices? I don't know their pizza's and prices.

I'll go visit them some time, but the city store charges extra but gives free delivery, whereas I can probably get 12" pizzas for $10 from Parafield, which would take me 30 minutes to get back into the city.

ok, i think neither is a better idea sorry, whilst collecting the pizza from parafield, 30 minutes means cold pizza.....

APH means mess ups and also cold pizza.

also the idea ordering a pizza from a different place is a form of insult, i mean imagine the pizzas from APH arriving and then all of a sudden a special delevery for 2 tables only.... i mean any other food by all means, but pizza would feel wrong.... then again if everyone agrees, the yeah sure i will be a part of it.

also for the people who did not see the special thread i made, i won't be getting pizzas from APH at quiz night, i mean there is no way there will be any warmth left in em, so if we do pizza house count me out from the pizza order!

Could i suggest a HJ's or KFC run? or even dine in pre quiz night and just munch on snacks when the other's pizzas arrive!

also was anyone interested in my snacks idea, where everyone brings different snacks and shares with their table? or if everyone was happy to chip in i could get a 2 x 1kg tub of starburst jelly beans and a 2 x 1kg tub of m+ms , would cost each person $2 each...

hmm thats true about people might getting upset about difference in pizzas... like I said its not entirely up to me, its up to everyone aswell, and snacks is a good idea.

I think the pizzas being different shouldn't be an issue . If you treat it as ... "we didn't pre-order with AVCON" i think its no trouble .

Paul's lack of presence in Australia? Though the problem could be solved by holding AVCon in Malaysia. Then we'd get Stormy involved, too. 8)

You know, maybe AvCon should supply some Japaense or Asian food, considering. Pizza at an anime convention has always confused me. -_-

They had sushi supplied at certain panel events in the past. It was pretty bad.

There's plenty of other things. -_- Miso, okonomiyaki, bento, tempura, takoyaki, taiyaki, terriyaki, sukiyaki, udon, oden, teppanyaki. Sake. :)

Very little of which the other Ryan likes, but which Atory will snarf down without a second thought. Sake would be an improvement, though I'm sure the behaviour of attendees will suffer as a result. 8)

Having never being drunk despite the many attempts of rellies to get me there, I'd say it'd take a lot to get me there. And Sake is definitely too light to get me there. But its light taste and smooth, burning aftertaste are delish.

waicon did a thing where they allowed a shop set up a stall for half hour each night, so they could sell hot Japanese food, oh and they gave the convention a tray of sushi for the volunteers XD

All in all, if we send someone to do a food-run, we have plenty of choices. Everything from KFC to Nandos. (It isn't as if we're limited by time, just access).

Hmm I dont mind either way, neither does dave, but dave isnt a big fan of kfc.. and we both reckon Nandos is never worth it... too expensive, and not very nice tasting!

so we dont mind having something else to eat that night but its not up to us indivdually because each person has different tastes, atory cannot eat hungry jacks anymore, dave doesnt like kfc, i dont like the peri peri sauce XD

Im not sure if atory could eat kfc either... so... we need more than one person's opinion, no offence, rasberry.

one way is that we move on to the Mc Donalds XD

actually Atory can eat KFC... just make sure there is no milk based products (can i have a cheese burger without cheese XD)

since the take aways are like all accross the road from each other maybee we could just split up into small groups since you don't want to venture to far from the uni....

btw there is also a subway on rundle street!

There's plenty of healtheir alternatives on Rundle Street as well for the same price. -_-

Yiros for $7.50 is a decent option, they only take a couple of minutes to get made. Pity you can't get the lunch special prices at Spices or Red Rock at night, they do great stuff for about $7 during the day. However the Wokinabox places on North Tce (maybe) and Hindley Street should be open at that time.

Yeah... I'd prefer to stay within the confines of adelaide uni if its raining and cold by then, but if we have to split up in groups and eat at places then fine but seriously, we need a firm decision TODAY, before 5. or even better, tell me at the launch!
Mark's stopping the online rego for the quiz night a day early. he said he doesnt want to bother with it all so yeah I had to tell him we are witholding our orders for now.

I'll go Wok in a Box. And whatever pocky I've got left over from the day's supply by then.

Dammit, I love Wok in a Box. Damn being sick, for their poor handling of events I hope they enjoy the mess.

thing is that quite a bit of the mess is picked up by standard volunteers and it is not their fault..

as well where was the mention of UNISAGA, i mean the tables were only simply referred to as AJAS

Yeah.... I just think it was easier for them to call us AJAS and AJAS2, rather than AJAS/UniSAGA and AJAS/UniSAGA2. Should have called ourselves something like the UniSA Brigade (UniSA-dan?), or something.

Thanks! although I feel it might not go so smoothly if trying to feed an entire quiz night's worth of people. Cooking 12 meals took 20 minutes, plus about 5 minutes to get the spring rolls, prawn crackers and drinks together.

Well comparing 12 meals + extras in 20mins to 12 pizzas in 40mins , its still a win situation .
