Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino

by Mappy » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:02 am

The second series of GSG. I'm nor sure if they're following the manga to a letter, but the description given on anidb makes it look very Triela-centric.

Oh, and one more thing:

Is it my imagination, or is there a certain moefication going on, here?

Are you sure those 'after' screen shots aren't from Manabi Straight?

Well, that sucks.

Already sort of disliking this new series... I liked the art form the original. For lack of a better word, the girls looked cool.
Perhaps it's just a reduction in production value that has taken on the appearance of increased cuteness. :hmmm:

Try the full thing on for size. It's kind of painful to look at. And Triela appears to have changed colour... :ouch:

Sums it up pretty well.

Having watch the first episode as well, I can just see this turning into a pile of fail very quickly. Then again, minors with guns are always fun... 8)

It looks like the animation studio have used every method possible to use as little money as possible on actually animating the studio. It's been ages since I've seen an anime where the "camera" shakes to imply action while the contents of the from remain motionless.

The animation is, to put it mildly...MERDE! And the story is tossed aside for pure minderjährigen mädchen fandom as of Volume 6, which is around where this series recommences, so bleh.

I don't think so. The story recommences much earlier than volume six.

Yes, forgot 1st season didn't do Padania or Pinocchio. So season 2 would start around volume 3 then.

What I've seen of this 2nd season doesn't compel me to watch it at all. Even though I found some aspects of the 1st season regrettable, it had a good music score, good animation and the cuteness was amplified by the animation. Now it's beginning to verge on Speed Grapher levels. Kind of hard to believe that a series that is at least half-reliant on the cute factor is drawn so crappily. I guess they should have hired a h-artist or something, they always do it right.

Having watched the episode, now, I have to concur with everyone's opinions.... The animation in this show is well below par. The lack of actual animation in certain scenes + the fact that most of the characters just look wrong (Rico and Henrietta look awful compared to their former selves) = this show just reeks of major budget-restricted fail....
