I'm not sure that SBS's decision to run ads during their programming, rather than between, as had been the case before, was forced upon them by any changes in the standard of FTA television charters. AFter all, if that were the case, then the ABC would have to, as well. No, I just think it is a decision by the directors of SBS to finally ruin SBS's reputation. Watching MythBusters over the last couple of weeks has been irritating in the extreme, because the ads themselves were the very example of banal slick corporate scheiße, and not something I wanted to see during a show I want to watch. It is bad enough having to watch the brain-dead bullshit that doubles for ads during channel 10's motorsport telecasts. And, apart from a very few other shows, that is about the only few occasions where FTA tv really bothers my existence in this world. And they wonder why ratings are down across the board.
