Last Exile / Seven of Four and threads split from NHK Manga

by Last Exile » Wed Oct 18, 2006 4:29 pm

Ryan White in another thread wrote:If you read this manga, chances are your already in one of the subcultures it's taking the piss out of. From mmorpgs, anime fandom and in Madman's case, minderjährigen mädchen, this manga targets everybody and makes you feel that little bit more pathetic. So it would fall under the "self-depreciation/self-humiliation" depressing. Saikano needed a heavy dose of Prozac, especially with the "Love Story Killed" side story. I swear, the Japanese entertainment industry got a hold of Romeo and Juliet and decided to make Shakespearean Tragedy the default model for a lot of their love stories.

Since I have immunity to shame I have immunity to felling pathetic. :)

If that were so that would make a world of pathetic people, in a world of pathetic people that have rejected the idea of being judged and refusing to accept the opinions of others makes a world of ignorants. Such a world cannot exist, because a world of ignorant people means that such a world of individuals would refuse to coexist, and that is not possible because people do in fact coexist. Therefore it cannot take one to know one because one is better than one. It is my place to judge and your place to cry, we have both earned our places in the world, which simply proves that intelligence gets you no where, simply brown nosing.

Mean or meant? one is present tense the other is past, proofread your posts.

You have a problem with your immaturity being removed from threads where it shouldn't belong despite the fact the two of you have been warned about flaming each other? I didn't do this, but I approve of it happening. If you want to flame each other you have until this thread is locked to do it, after that no more flaming.

That is not a flame war, it is simple jesting that has been highly misinterpreted and taken out of context. The two of us get along great IRL, I don't see what the problem is. I suggest some of you chill.

The problem is we don't want to read posts from the two of you bickering on the forum and taking threads off topic.

I'll ring him and sort this out. I certainly didn't ask him to post a law-style lecture every topic.

I'm honest. I did it. I found the "argument" hilarious, to be frank....

But not exactly a discussion about the NHK manga. So I moved it here.

If your "arguments" are in jest, may I suggest copious usage of the smileys provided, because text has this amazing inability to convey such things as tone of voice, facial expression and non-verbal cues. For all everyone else knows, you're for real.

With every flame post the AJAS website is getting less and less chance of being linked from the USASA website... I'm surprised how many flames there are on this forum and in such a little time. The UniSAGA forum has never had a problem with flames or trolls, I feel sorry for the Admins here.

Yah fine, I'm just not one to provoke but am easily provoked. The temptation is too hard to resist, but since you insist so much White, I'll stop in the hope others will follow suit.

Thank you, for both stopping and for setting an example.
