Freezing Hard Drives for data recovery does work

by Morphis » Thu Nov 09, 2006 2:33 pm

I myself was skeptical of this, But I just tried it and it does actually work.

Before freezing the drive would only copy < 300MB before going into read loop or turning off all together. :x

After copied >50GB off in one go :wow:

PS don't leave the drive in the freezer for more than a couple of hours and keep it in a plastic bag at all times ( both in the freezer and while cold out of the freezer ). 8)
Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day,
Set him on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life. :p
