ARTA8SIMS Tokyo Trip/Shopping Thread

by ARTA8SIMS » Sat Jul 25, 2009 2:12 am

Ok. I'm going to Tokyo for my birthday next year at january. It will be a good idea I start thinking about what things I should buy and where I should go. Akihabara is a must go for sure! If anyone can think of some other good places please reply to this thread and at the end I'll create a complete list of place I will go and stuff I'll buy. BTW I only have 7 days on this trip so I need to make sure I can do everything on time. If anyone would like me to buy something for you while Im in Tokyo please list them here too. But remember I can't buy things that are too large or heavy since I'll also have my own stuff. Talk to me in person towards the end of the year, may be around November then will get into the real planning stage and also sort out what things you guys might want me to get for you while Im there. Anyway enough talk, let's get started.

Frying from Hong Kong to Tokyo sometime in January.......

Places to go to:

1. Tokyo Autosalon 2010 - will go on the saturday.
2. Akihabara - 1 day looking around, 2nd day shopping.
3. Super Autobacs Tokyo Bay Shinonome - if I have time
4. ?????????

What to buy?
Well....... I'm looking at some Akihabara gadgets on the net and I found quite a few interesting things to buy.
Izumi Konata USB Memory 4GB for around ¥ 5,500 (AUD$71) - Maybe

Rei Ayanami USB Memory 4GB for around ¥ 5,500 (AUD$71) - Unsure

Clannad Collector Mouse around ¥8,200 (AUD$105) - A bit too much for a mouse but I think someone might want it.

Reopenable Beer Can = Mugen Beer around ¥2,300 (AUD$29) - ..........

Mugen Beer Can Opens Again and Again and Again, the pocket device simulates the feel of a Can opening......

Information Sheet
Crack a beer without the damage to your liver or social life. Then crack it again. And again. And again....

Coming with many sound:
- Opening Sound (PUSH-!)
- Drinking Sound (GOKUGOKU!)
- Drink Bubbles Sound (Pu-shu--)
- Poured Drink Sound (Tokutoku…Shuwa-)
and other random "secret" sound.

Buffalo USB Game Pad around ¥2,500 (AUD$31) - Someone might want?

Fire Bell Alarm Clock around ¥ 4,200.00 (AUD$54) - MUST GET!!

Eva Watch Project EVA-W01 around ¥ 30,900 (AUD$400) - Any takers?

Thanko Pocket HDCam around ¥ 16,800 (AUD$217) - Maybe

The Pocke HD Camera feature 32MB of internal memory and can receive SDHC cards up to 32GB. It's also equipped with HDMI out, a 2.0” LCD, PAL / NTSC...
Thanko's Pocket HDCam can record video in 1440x1080/30p at 12Mbps and 1280x720/30p video at 6Mbps in H.264

Thing to buy:

Genuine Watanabe RS super light racing wheels. Rare as hen's teeth and a full set in good nick could easily buy 3-4 VN Commodores.

One(1) full set to fit your car (4x100mm I would imagine?), and one(1) full set to fit my car (4x114.3mm). :)

Comiket.
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.
It’s commonly known when you look north in Japan East is to your left. Please don’t try to correct that sentence. It lasts only for a second but I wouldn’t expect a mistake like that.
