That 1:1 scale RX-78-2 Gundam Statue...

by Hans Stockmann » Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:32 am

Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.
It’s commonly known when you look north in Japan East is to your left. Please don’t try to correct that sentence. It lasts only for a second but I wouldn’t expect a mistake like that.

Awesome! This would look great in my front yard :D

Seems like an awful lot of work only to be displaying it there for only 3 months though... maybe it'll end up similar to that giant statue of the Mazinger Z in Spain

It's being shifted around to various places over the year. The main reason for taking it down would be because it's mighty hard to maintain a paintjob like that under various weather conditions throughout the years.

In regards to that Mazinger statues, keep in mind that lunar titanium alloy has nothing on CHOGOKIN ZET.

Well, here's a site with the location up:

http://www.otaku2.com/articleView.php?item=419

Shinagawa Station is about a couple of stops south of Tokyo Station (as opposed to Akihabara being a couple of stops north of it).
From there head East towards the water and you'll see where it was on the other side (as it will only be there until October 11th....).

....oh, and while you're in Akiba, can you see how much it would cost me to bring back a 1:1 Chii?? :P

I am still intrigued by what Bandai are going to do with the thing now. Perhaps they'll just ship its pieces to Tomino for him to gleefully smash whenever they announce another AU.
