Posting Large images

by Morphis » Tue Oct 31, 2006 12:16 am

When posting large images use the NEW 'lightbox' BBcode tag.

Code: Select all
[lightbox]http://homepage.mac.com/timrutter/cosplay/1160893234835.jpg[/lightbox]

Does:-

When you click on the thumbnail.
The HiRes version will load as an image overlay.
( on supported browsers as long as you have javascript enabled )
Else it will link through to the HiRes.

P.S. you can right click the thumbnail and download the linked HiRes.

Tested on:-
  • Firefox 2.x

  • Internet Explorer 6

  • Internet Explorer 7

  • Opera 8 minor bug: no transparency on background overlay.

  • Opera 9

  • Safari 2

  • Safari 3

Also appears to work on the latest version of 'old' firefox, whatever it is. :)

Resident tank enthusiast. See me for racist and opinionated storytelling and vaguely accurate historical tank warfare-themed rants.

Can anybody else tell that Tim likes Macs?

It's a pity only 1 out of 3 of them are ever working in the computing labs which is sad since they are only about 1-2 years old. And funnily enough, Firefox is rooted on all of them. However, being out of Uni net credits stops me from even using it anyway. :)
Disgusting...

No javascript support, but tapping the image links to the highres version sucessfully. You might as well chalk that up as a tested to work on Pocket Internet Explorer 2.0.

I'll test it on PIE 1 and 5 later if I can, but don't hold your breath.
