Khajiit's Art Den

by khajiit » Sun Feb 01, 2009 2:06 am

Because DeviantArt, MSN, another forum and coworkers just aren't enough!

This is where I'll be chucking all my artwork for our wonderous forumers to have a look at, and if you would be so kind as to even possibly leave some comments, I'd be much appreciative!

First up is one I finished all of 10 minutes ago: Candy Boy!

Increase the yuri level by a few factors and you'll have a fan. :)

@ Bazza: shall do! I'll turn the yuri up to 11 xD granted in the anime they haven't even kissed so far (although that cake scene was really hot *bah where's the nosebleed emoticon gone >_<*)

@ Sufferes: Small one unfortunately... It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but I've gotten the hang of using it now (although a bigger one that still has pressure sensitivity would be nice xD)

@ Garry: Bamboo is a brand of graphics tablet lol http://store.apple.com/au/product/TP499X/A?mco=MTIxODk3Mw

The world can never have too much cute and fluffy yuri. Speaking of fluffy, nekomimi always goes down a big hit.

Mhm I've never been a reall big fan of cat ears myself. Really the only two characters I think they've really suited have been lucy from elfen lied and ropponmatsu 2 from excel saga.

It's only a little 6x4 tablet and it cost around $150. I did actually have a larger one, but it didn't have pressure sensitivity and that's really important to have. Maybe I'll be able to pick up a larger one some day, I saw a very nice looking 12x8 inch one for $750 :P

Just a word to people about the posting of large images: using the "lightbox" function helps to reduce download time for people perusing threads by putting the image into a clickable thumbnail.

Cheers.

Most newbs on the forum probably have no idea what the function is for, so we really should make constant reminders....

Don't use the lightbox_local function, though. Just the lightbox one. Add the code as you would if you were using the Img one (don't also click Img, though.... The lightbox works on its own)

khajiit wrote:No comment on my artwork though?

I'm terrible at making such comments. And terrible at receiving them (when I used to write fanfics). Positive comments always used to confuse me.... What was I doing wrong? 8)

Where's the originality in fan-fics? I used to write fantasy. I also got a few short tales published. I really have to ditch all my commitments to get back to some writing and drawing. It would be great to share some drawing and writing tips at AJAS sometime.

As for the original post: Was it drawn based on an existing picture or straight from memory? I think the best part is the detail on the lighter haired sister's skirt. Area to improve would be the thickness and consistency of the legs.

Well, it has been well establised there are only 36 possible plot lines in writing/stories. However, the rest of the ingredients don't suffer such finite boundaries, except the ones you create yourself.

xD thanks for the comment, atory... yes it was drawn from an existing picture used as reference, as most of mine generally are at the moment. I just find I don't have the best memory for detail so having a picture is always good to remind me what needs to go where, although that's only for the lineart and colour and I'm trying my best to rely on a picture less and less. Shadowing and highlight I generally do from scratch. Critique noted on the legs as well ^_^

And here's a new one for ya :D

Nice work, love the hamon (wavy line up the sword) :)

It's just, the sword of the blue-haired character (don't know the name, sorry) seems a little crooked on the tsuba (guard thing between the handle and blade), unless it's supposed to be offset... which would be cool 8)

I've taken to wearing a straw hat recently, I think I've worn it the last few times I've been. So you may or may not have noticed me, but we haven't spoken or anything. There was one kinda awkward moment in the Pancake House where we were trying to figure out where to sit, but I don't really count that as a conversation...
