I'm painting a wallpaper from Gunslinger Girl

by bloopletech » Mon May 19, 2008 10:54 pm

Hey all,

I've been watching Gunslinger Girl recently, and I decided to start painting (my mother's an artist and she's helping me a lot). So naturally, I decided to paint a wallpaper from Gunslinger Girl.

Here's some pics. This first one is the original wallpaper:

Most of the wallpaper drawn (the canvas is 30 by 40 inches which is pretty big):

Some pics of the painting at various stages:

My blog http://blog.bloople.net will have more updates as I continue.

N.B. Some of the painting (mostly the gun) was done by me mother - but this is only the first coat, I'll be doing more with the second. Plus the gun was really hard and would have taken me ages.

Really? I'd have to think about that, not sure I could part with it. But maybe!

If you enjoy it, and there's interest... why not take commissions?

Looks great so far. Can't wait to see the final piece.

It's nice to see someone with an actual skill who is interested in weeaßoo culture. Most of us are just geeks and/or computer nerds.

Seriously, I'm sure a couple of us would buy copies of that for any reasonable price. 8)

This is of far better benefit than cosplay. I hope it turns out well, mate.

Thanks for all the great replies! I'll definitely be doing more work on it tomorrow night (Wed). Gunslinger Girl is definitely worth checking out - it's so wrong it's right.

The hair and shading of the clothes caught my attention most in this update. Looking good.

Chibi versions of characters from Seinarukana - The Sword of Eternity 2

Redhead is Satsuki, sulky-looking one is Nozomi, blonde is Katima (my personal favourite).
