I don't even see how that's supposed to work after Season 2 being the solution arcs.

There are several arcs that can be animated. The "true end" arc, in which everyones' issues, as presented throughout the show, are dealt with (no "the power of our friendship shall overcome all" stuff) before dealing with Takano and the Yamainu. The "perfect world" arc, where Rika has an accident with a car and wakes up to a world where everything is peaceful and nobody has any problems, and steadily goes insane from all the perfection. And then there is the "present day" arc, where a girl with vague connections to the doomed village of Hinamizawa returns there to find a creepy adult Mion wandering around, dispensing the village's undead residents with a samurai sword (a manga arc). There are even more arcs, but I can't remember them all right now.... Plenty of material to work with.

These are the arcs (AFAIK) which have not been animated so far from Comiket and PS2:
1. Saikoroshi-hen (Dice Killing Chapter)
2. Batsukoishi-hen (Penalty Loving Chapter)
3. Hirukowashi-hen (Daybreak Chapter)
4. Taraimawashi-hen (Whirligig Chapter)
5. Tsukiotoshi-hen (Exorcism Chapter)
6. Miotsukushi-hen (Canal Drying Chapter)

These are the manga exclusive arcs:
1. Onisarashi-hen (Demon Exposing Chapter)
2. Yoigoshi-hen (Overnight Chapter)
3. Utsutsukowashi-hen (Reality Breaking Chapter)

I can see this series eventually turning into a guro anime. The killings are pretty lame and light-hearted they should turn Higurashi into an R18+ anime guro style ftw

Err, it falls pretty squarely in the guro category already. At least, respective of my understanding of what guro is.

I've used this argument before, but, just how is a 10 year old girl being eaten by crows light hearted?

You only got one part of the definition right, guess the other part :). Well its light-hearted if you don't actually see how they got killed (like the part where Rena headbutts into the knife), Higurashi to me is to find the most gruesome way you can knocking off the main characters and just seeing a dead body lying in the middle of the shrine for days doesn't cut it. Compared to the earlier first season episodes the deaths got pretty lame.

Honestly how could you mix them up? Those 2 episodes only happened to be the best of the series. Personally I thought the first arc was completely weak, especially the killing. Then it gradually went up, peaking in the second to last arc, then plateaued.

Same reason how you can mix up Shana and Louise. Anime is going Mortal Kombat Style, next there will be a character in a series featuring Marie with palette swap of Bright Green.

That was the second arc I was describing however yes first arc was kinda weak cause it ripped off Silent-Hill's atmosphere, sorry did I said ripped off? I meant plagiarized, the highest peak was the death of Rika in the second arc... but never went as gruesome as that. Well if they went any further it would be classed as a guro anime.

I think you mean the THIRD ARC. :?

Arc One - Keichi
Arc Two - Mion
Arc Three - Sakoto
Arc Four - Hypothetical before and after Sakoto line
Arc Five - Shion
Arc Six - Rena

Rika was killed and covered in crows in the Sakoto arc, which caused Sakoto to lose her mind and push Keichi off the bridge. Ie. THIRD ARC

Mappy doesn't object so I'm right, Rika covered in Crows is akin to Dead Body in RE covered in Crows = loses the shock death effect (been here done that feeling hence RE has far more realistic graphics). Rika head butting knife and you actually see it, now that's a real shockjock death. If you seen Rika being pecked to death by Crows than thats equals to Rika head butting Knife. Talking about the most horrific death in the first series not the most horrific arc

Rika impaling herself on the knife happened in Episode 20. That's the Shion arc, not the Mion arc. -_- 5 not 2.

I somehow think that's not the chan he frequents, Mappy. -_-

Gome ne for the mispelling. But seriously, if I hear one more 'mai waifu' or 'cure couple' in relation to Satoko and Rika, I'd knife them myself. That's what they were made for anyway.

Oh wait, I don't do knives. As Mulder once said in The X-Files, 'A gunshot wound to the stomach is the slowest and most painful way to die.' Yeah...Perfect...*BANG* That'll give her enough time to scream for her nii-nii 1000 times over.

And before Mappy even thinks fo saying it, NO! I have not been lurking where PM has been, especially not freaking guro.

Gunshot wound to the stomach is not the worst way to die, these wounds are only painful because the acid inside can leak out into the body but isn't always fatal. When my father did national service when the Vietnam War was on soldiers were encouraged to shoot the enemy in the stomach for a few reasons like:
1) It's the easiest part of a human to hit
2) The screaming will demoralise their comrades
3) It takes two of his mates to cart him off the battlefield, doctors to patch him up, nurses to look after him and a ton of medicine thus reducing the enemies ability to wage war.
The worst way would have to be being burnt alive with all the pain nerves on your skin firing off signals to the brain and being able to smell yourself cooking.

That's the answer arc, to arc 2 but you do see Rika head butting the knife at the start of the arc (she didnt impale herself, the word your looking for is stabbing).

Maybe we should turn this into a Kipi thread :).
