i dunno what you guys are on about that first episode was great way to start the new season its different very much so its more vulgar despite the fact panty try's to reap every guy in the whole show but its japanese so it makes sense despite the amounts of english swearing it's not that bad the action was great the humour was genuinly funny the live exploding paper mashay monsters at the end of each episode was funny and different i am suprised at how well those episode's played out for its first time...you can say what you want watch one episode and then tell me what you think people should'nt judge a show before it starts...from most forums all i am getting FTW FTW FTW...

I tend to be strangely apologetic for Imaishi and Yoshinari's work around here. It's a bad habit and I'm stopping it now. I was expecting Panty and Stocking to be somewhere around the Dead Leaves mark for stupidity and vulgarity. After watching the first episode, it's managed to move below that to the Ctrl-Alt-Del: The Animated Series/Apocalypse Zero tier.

No, the jokes aren't funny. "I want a c.ock to suck", "I like to eat sweets with names similar to dangerous diseases" and "people vomiting" are punchlines that become stale after one use. When they're your comedic cruthces, there's no saving you.
The action wasn't very interesting. It lacked the energy of the afformentioned Dead Leaves, or the far more entertaining first episode of Re: Cutie Honey (which also managed to deliver sexual gags in a funnier way. Go Nagai's camp works far better for ripping off tops than John Krifaclsi's derriere-rubbing, leg-humping antics) The content of the action wasn't very interesting either. Transform then rapid editing to chop up a monster isn't cool by any stretch of the word. Using a cheap model exploding was even more pathetic.
The animation isn't even that good. The framerate is often pretty choppy, and it still uses a ton of editing techniques and angles to avoid showing things going on, then decides to spend time showing a dog that looks like Gir's brains getting punched out for no explicable reason.

For people that at least claim to be fans of Genndy Tartavosky's work, it has far too much Krifaclsi. And I hate Ren and Stimpy.

Speaking of Tartavosky, his new show's great. Go watch that instead and pray it inspires more American studios to make shows with actual content again.

The first half of the episode, certainly. It is right down there with Aachi and Ssipak.
The second half was more of what I was expecting. Still, 12 minute episode segments don't make for great rolling, mindless action set pieces like Dead Leaves.

Sounds like it's going to be in AJAS in 2011 what Detroit Metal City is to AJAS in 2010, but even more crass. At least that's what Hans and I agreed on.

We'd have to be pretty desperate to want to put this show on the schedule.

But, of course, we haven't seen the seasonal schedules for 2011, yet.

It's going to be a year of 52 episode shows that are all remakes of Gakeen, Apocalypse Zero, Gingaiser, Roots Search and Skelter+Heaven. And a new show directed by Shinichi Watanabe

That would be your dream season, though.

episode 3 oh yeah they went there... D day representing intercourse those evil tissue's wiping away the sperm soldiers oh yeah that was.....hilarious and that cencorship was so half assed at least the ending was funny i still like it say what you like its a nifty show but i will warn you its 18+ no question about it...

another great episode's with laughs and plenty of omg's it just keeps getting more and more bizarre...

well for once i can say "that was a terribly directed episode of panty and stocking..."

Anyhow guys regardless whether you like P&S or not, over half of the fan base are females.
Reason being is that the protagonist and antagonist are not blown up ficken dolls like over 70% of the anime.

BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER! heaps good episode to end the season yes thats right there's allready a "to be continued and see you next season" on the last frame so hopefully we get some more panty and stocking in the future with some better directing in some episode's unless you really want me to spoil it... stocking is actually a demon but i still luv her anywayz...

Gainax might just troll us all and not do a second season.
Or the next series will be called Scanty and Kneesocks. Who turn out to be angels.

Yeah, the more you think about it, the more you realise that there isn't going to be a second season. The whole post end credits cliffhanger ending is just a spoof of other shows that do this, including shows Gainax have made, themselves. I don't know if I'd be happy if I was wrong, but to be frank, this seems to be it for this show. Thirteen masochistic weekends of P&S viewing over. What fresh hell will fill that gap?

During the final Panty and Stocking staff webcast, series director Hiroyuki Imaishi has confirmed that a second season of Panty & Stocking with Gaterbelt is dependent on meeting Kadokawa’s expectations for merchandise sales as well as his personal desire to continue the series.
