29-year-old Nana Mizuki has become the first seiyū (character voice) with a #1 album on Oricon's weekly album chart in Japan. Mizuki's seventh album, Ultimate Diamond, sold 74,000 copies during its first week of release this past week. No other seiyū has ranked that high since Oricon began posting its charts in January of 1968.

Nana Mizuki's "Shinai" song debuted at #2 with 42,630 copies in January, but on Oricon's weekly single chart. Last year's "Trickster" single also reached #2 with a personal high of 57,201 copies, and it was Mizuki's eighth single to rank in the top 10. Her Nana Mizuki Live Fighter Blue X Red Side became the first release by a musical artist to sell over 10,000 Blu-ray Discs. The two DVD variants of the same release sold over 28,000 copies.

And for anyone who isn't having bells rings upon hearing that name, her most noted role to date is as Fate in the Nanoha series, but she has been in many series lately, including the original Fullmetal Alchemist, Minami-ke and Rideback to name a few.

I do like her voice - great range of tonality. Innocent Shooter is a gem of a theme as well. Congrats to her on becoming the first.
Disgusting...
