I dunno, the series needs a Mappy-style lookover before it's declared playable or not.

... Also, that was verdammt HORRIBLE. I felt my manliness shrink during that first episode.

So essentially it's more of the same in the tradition of MoHS, LS, and Cl.

Would it kill Kyoto Animation to do something that is at least 'remotely different'?

Yeah, judging from the manga, it's basically Lucky Star with instruments instead of otaku references

Hmm.. for one reason or another I got more of a Azumanga x LS feeling ^^

Really? Considering the cuteness of the four main characters, shrinking was the last thing I'd expect anyone's manliness to do

Sure one thing may be getting bigger but the two things attached to it shrink notably when perusing moé type shows such as this. :)

I watched Ep 2 yesterday, was funny how she unplug the guitar from the amp without lowering the volume.
BTW watch this Hatsune Miku version of K-On! ED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFV_SCPU3Q8
and also this guitar verion of the ED http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZoRdH-f1co&feature=related
OP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hq3jQ3A0s7k&feature=related - this guy even got a same guitar!
Personlly I think the ED is better than the OP. What you do you think?

The ED theme is far better than the OP. Probably the best theme for any series this season. But then, considering the subject matter, it needs to be.

Quantcast

1st K-On! Volume is Now #2 Blu-Ray in Japan So Far

Sells 33,000 copies to top Macross F 1 & The Dark Knight, but not Eva: 1.0

The Oricon survey firm reports on Wednesday that the first Blu-ray Disc (BD) volume of kakifly and Kyoto Animation's K-ON! anime has sold about 33,000 copies to become the #2 best-selling BD release overall and the #1 television anime BD in Japan so far. The volume also topped Oricon's latest weekly Blu-ray Disc sales chart when it shipped on July 29. The previous television anime BD record holder, the first volume of Shoji Kawamori and Satelight's Macross Frontier, sold about 22,000 copies. K-ON! volume 1 topped Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight live-action film (about 29,000 copies in Japan) but is still trailing Hideaki Anno and Khara's Der Krieg: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone anime film (about 49,000 copies).

The first K-ON! DVD volume sold about 8,000 copies to debut at #7 on the latest weekly DVD chart.
