June OVA Night Suggestion

by Atory » Fri May 18, 2007 12:08 pm

I would like to see the return of the OVA Night... and I've got a suggested playlist.

Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2
Murder Princess 1
Saint October 3
Welcome to the N.H.K 24
Freedom 3
Yukikaze 3
Bokurano 1
FLAG 4

Start with fanservice, complete a series in the middle and top it all off with a healthy dose of Mech.

You should add Hellsing OVA 3.

If a couple of the abovewere removed (but NOT Saint October & Ichigo OVA) and replaced with Hellsing OVA 3, then that would a perfect OVA night lineup.

I bekieve there are a couple of movies being held in reserve for future OAV/Movie nights. We'll see what happens.

You might think twice after seeing the suss White minderjährigen mädchen transformation scene. 8)

Watched one of the films that are being held for future screening (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo) and I thought it was a reasonable playlist offering. So there is enough for an oav/movie night if we want to run one.

Apparently we only don't have OVA Nights if we don't have enough to show. We have plenty this time around. Here's my revised playlist:

Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2
Murder Princess 1
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Saint October 3
Hellsing OVA 3
Freedom 3
Yukikaze 3
FLAG 4

Just to be a bully and make you reorganise your playlist again, I'd like to point out that Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo is one hour, thirty eight minutes long.

Oh... my bad. Lacking sleep = maths not good (English neither).

Remove Freedom 3 and Yukikaze 3 then.

Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2
Murder Princess 1
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo

Yep, your bad and your math still isn't so good. Get some sleep.
That playlist doesn't work well either, coming out at four hours, four minutes and thirty six seconds. Simply put, it's one hour, four minutes and thirty six seconds longer than is desirable.

Timing for shows is as follows:
Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2 - 25:38
Murder Princess 1 - 24:30
Toki wo Kakerru Shoujo - 1:38:03
Saint October 3 - 24:59
Hellsing OVA 3 - 46:38
Flag 4 - 24:48
Freedom 3 - 25:02
Yukikaze 3 - 30:23

Which brought the original suggestion to five hours and one second.
Please discuss what items you would like put onto the playlist coming close to a 3 hour total +/- 15 minutes.

it has come to my attention that Azujas has been run bus a bunch of weird looking people....

we have identified OAV night as the 13th Angel!

This photo was taken at a regular meeting upon deciding fate of OAV night....

Hellsing OVA 3 - 46:38
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo - 1:38:03

+ 2 of these in descending order of (personal) preference

Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2 - 25:38
Murder Princess 1 - 24:30
Freedom 3 - 25:02
Saint October 3 - 24:59
Flag 4 - 24:48
Yukikaze 3 - 30:23

= playlist.

Cheers.

Man... Sleep does help. For some reason I was confusing AJAS's 3 hours with UniSAGA's 4 hours and totally screwing up the calculation of Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo's running time... Since when has an hour been 100 mins? My choice is by popular demand as I won't be making it at this stage.

Ichigo Mashimaro OVA 2
Hellsing OVA 3
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo
Saint October 3

Technically we do book the room until 10:00pm but I don't think many people would be remaining at the end.

Saint October is the most... explicitly-presented* minderjährigen mädchen I've ever seen... And therefore it should not, under any circumstances, be removed.

And I'm dying to see Yukikaze 3, and Toki wa Kakeru Shoujo (read up on wiki, seems to be really good...) Although with exams coming up and finishing up projects / assignments, and work, it'll be hard to make it there... T_T

Okay, I'd say go for the OVA night. I'll try to be there.

The thing with this poll is that the results show that people either don't care about it or they want it back -> ans >= 0. And since ans++, therefore we should go with it.

okay, i'm pretty much stressed and bored...

So, having come to the conclusion that we want the OAV/Movie night back, we do all realise that next Tuesday is a normal meeting, falling on the 29th of May? The first meeting in June is on the 5th. Unless, of course, we're planning on having two in a row....

Just thought I'd ask.

I really think that we should put on the best shows, so my opinion must be

Hellsing
Yukikaze
Freedom
Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo

Well, Mashimaro is cute and many people are interest in Saint October. However in fact, they are actually not good enough to get space in that tiny time schedule.

*Correction , we've actually played through the whole of the Mashimaro series . . .

Sure they won't get air-time for the day , but I wager it WILL be played .

I mean, the shows I just pointed out did got the most extol (compare to others on the playlist) from Japanese professional media.
That's the only reason, nothing else.

We are not the Japanese professional media and may have different tastes.

It should be what the AJAS members want.

Yes, it's more of a question of Australian tastes than Japanese tastes. Our countries have had disagreements over certain issues in the past.

Well, find then.

I have to say, I didn't force anyone with a gun or a knife to play the shows I suggested; and did not mean to say Mashimaro and Saint October are bad animes.

However, sorry for making this unnecessary argument.

The perfect counter argument:

"Naruto is outrageously popular in Japan"

The end. 8)

Whatever the case, everyones' tastes differ, so this argument will only be of the circular kind. After all, most of EVAC like Naruto. 8)

Thread reached its natural conclusion. Carry on over here.
