Playlist - 6th November 2012

by Dhumahn » Tue Oct 30, 2012 11:45 pm

This week's meeting will be located in PM-06 (The Rat Hole). This will apply to the meetings for the rest of the month.

AJAS THEME NIGHT 7:
OLD SCHOOL TECH

This was originally meant to be pure steampunk, but I've extended it to medieval-based series...if there were any good shows based in the prehistoric era, I would count them as well :)

The preliminary list is as follows (to be shortened by the meeting):

Steampunk Choices:
Last Exile - Gin'yoko No Fam 1
Kino's Journey
Vision of Escaflone
The Daughter Of 20 Faces
Turn A Gundam 1
Sakura Wars 1

Medieval Choices:
12 Kingdoms
Kemono No Souja Erin 1
Record Of Lodoss War 1
Guin Saga 1
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto

SUGGESTIONS FOR EPISODES WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Also, head's up....The 2012 AJAS POLL will commence November 27th!

Surprised not to see Freedom somewhere on that list. :(

Although nearly everything on the list as it stands I've not watched before so there is value in all of it.

Except Gundam... urgh.

There never was a second season of Last Exile. Any suggestion there was is utterly false. Why the hell is it even on the shortlist?

Actually, why the hell is Last Exile even being mentioned?! Only Mendes would be delusional enough to think AJAS gives a damn about Last Exile. Freaking Mendes.

Other steampunk titles you could play - Fullmetal Alchemist, Nadia, Future Boy Conan, Sherlock Hound, Giant Robo.

Medieval - Spice and Wolf, Berserk, Scrapped Princess, Claymore.

Never seen Turn A. Thinks it is ordinary Gundam.

Does this mean there is a Gundam series that isn't painful to watch?

As a mechanic I cannot suspend enough belief to enjoy Gundam.

The same happened with Star Driver.

no. sparks are NOT supposed to come out of that thing. *twitch*

On an unrelated note the pneumatic launcher thing in IS seems to be much better thought out at least to the point you can suspend your belief (understanding of physics) long enough to enjoy it. 8)

Upon further reflection, since you're including medieval titles, you should probably play Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It is AJAS...
