Lol, it's something different, so don't complain too much. Besides, how often do I put an ecchi, or pusedo-ecchi, series on the playlist?? Who knows, the rest of the crowd might enjoy it, one can only try.

You promised me Junjou. My heart cannot take this earthshattering betrayal any longer.
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.
It’s commonly known when you look north in Japan East is to your left. Please don’t try to correct that sentence. It lasts only for a second but I wouldn’t expect a mistake like that.

this just me being obviously open but my guess is we've never played yuri cause everyones to scared to enjoy it or they genuinly enjoy it that and the fact ratio of guys to girls in the audience might creep the ladies out...

i am certain we've never played Yaoi begs the question why hav'nt we played junjou? if more people thinks its better then do it... that and the fact some people don't like gays...
when it comes to i_cest, G_ro, _cat, Fut__ari, Nekropheliac's i am certain we hav'nt tried those yet... oh right Kurenai was about in breds wasn't it?

There hasn't been a Yuri show played in the last few years (that one time Candy Boy was played being the exception) because they always got booted off five weeks later anyway.
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.

AJAS has been before. But when they sink to the quality of being voted off faster than the time it takes to beat a schwachkopf to death, why bother?

A simple "no" would suffice, honey. You should have put on Arakawa instead of Seitokai, incidentally.

Hmm I welcome the fact that we can screen ecchi shows as long as its not ridiculously blatant fanservice for no reason types you know what Im talking about.

Has Arakawa been put on the playlist before? Id love to see that, its unique and everything.

You were hoping the person with the highest postcount on the forum would show up? Talk about setting your expectations way too Captain Obvious.

Time for the place quotes go to die....

GarryGod wrote:and Xebec have never made a show about sex jokes...

Though they are quite a joke, already.

Hans Stockmann wrote:You promised me Junjou. My heart cannot take this earthshattering betrayal any longer.

Well, he's promised you New Show for a while, and we haven't seen that either.
And we forgot about Junjou.
My first choice of replacement was Minami-ke. Because Hosaka, Bossu and Banchou.

GarryGod wrote:this just me being obviously open but my guess is we've never played yuri cause everyones to scared to enjoy it or they genuinly enjoy it that and the fact ratio of guys to girls in the audience might creep the ladies out...

Or we keep voting them off. A bit like Maid shows.
And the current membership is more than enough to scare people off, female or not.

And Billy is made of Awesome and Gendou.

About as unique as almost every other terrible Shaft series going about. But at least it isn't Negima.
As you can tell, I've just sat through 26 episodes of Arakawa. I'm not going to be able to do that again. Not anytime soon.

Stop being children guys, children are suffering.

Replying to other people is also suffering. Stop suffering amongst yourselves.

GarryGod wrote:Oh great a show about predictable sex jokes

At least the show has jokes, what about Nichijou? Not funny at all, I'm suffering after watching this. Think the joke is about watching this,
What about the minderjährigen mädchen professor da joke don make sense. As soon as I saw her I imaged a lot of people who want to play with her you know what I mean.

Nichijou doesn't have a start to a joke, brings out a mock gag and BEAT A DEAD HORSE WHILE GOING AT IT and then not ending the joke.
Jokes need a start and at end not go in circles and circles and circles, at least watching SYD is not suffering.

I kind of understand where you are coming from but with the second episode onwards Nichijou gets super hilarious. Maybe I got used to the type of humour or something.

Sakamoto (the cat) is awesome lol. It takes time to get used to the "set-ups" in Nichijou because its not conventional at all. The punchline is given by the person who usually isnt supposed to give it. Also you have to warm up to the random gags that are just plain ridiculous, its all part of the charm of the show. Give it more time it gets way waaaaay better trust me.

My opinion of Nichijou is simple. It is waaayyyy better than I was expecting it to be. Because I was expecting it to be teeeeerrrible, and it is merely average. As opposed to, say, A-Channel, which I was expecting to be teeeeerrrible, and it managed to align itself, perfectly, to those expectations.

As for SYD, I marathoned it last night after finishing Yamato. Let's just say this: if you're ever intending to marathon a series based on a 4koma that is presented like a 4koma and contains lots of single-entendre sex jokes, don't watch archaic levels of awesomeness like Yamato beforehand, because no matter how absurd and inconsistent Yamato's plot and presentation, or how terrible a lot of Yamato's animation quality, is, the 4koma is always going to look like a half-ar$ed pile of colourful, cleanly-animated dessicated goat turd in comparison. I managed to get a couple of chuckles out of SYD, mostly when they manage to be clever with the way they delivered the jokes and weren't completely predictable, but then my Germanic heritage would take over and I'd be sitting with a stony-faced expression, feeling like I was subjecting myself to something far below my status. It was a good thing Hata existed in that show, because she made the whole thing so much better when she appeared. Note to people who make anime: make all of your characters interesting, even if they are caricatures.... It helps with the entertainment value.

I'd probably be a whole lot easier on the show if Yamato hadn't intervened. It isn't actually as bad as I've described, when I ponder over it, but you know.... In short, expect Yamato to feature in the next 70's night.

Oh yes. I rather think SYD needs to be on pretty late on the playlist. Very much so. There aren't many other shows where anal masturbation is the punchline to a joke.

Also note the amount of nostalgiafagging in my previous post. I'm not saying SYD is bad inasmuch as Yamato is good.

None that are as amazing as Ping Pong Club, that is.

On the subject of Yamato, it still brings a smile to my face whenever I watch Star Blazers and conclude that it's still honestly one of the best english dubs of a japanese cartoon out there. Dessler's transformation from a woefully bland space nazi to a camp homosexuell space nazi is a miracle of casting decisions.

EDIT: While we're on 70s Night(s) talk, I've procured another copy of that UFO documentary Toei made to convince investors that a robot show featuring the things would be a hit with the audience of today. It was even made on 35mm film! Naturally, this means I also have another copy of the Grendizer (oh sorry, GATTAIGER) pilot that immediately followed said docco.

We should also totally play my Mazinger Z trollsubs.
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.

meh i kinda agree... the first half is really the bread and butter of the series the after story's are just extra's if you really wanted to get to know the characters i still think it was the best turn out of last year despite the shear amount of other scheiße that came out only to have a few decent shows that where acceptable quality...

but replace it with madoka? arghe >_> oh well eye for a eye makes the whole world blind...

Someone finally noticed.

Only took almost a week.

Yay for making things next to invisible.

Was pretty much decided the last meeting Rainbow was played. When there were 5 people left in the room watching it. It isn't good when the room population versus outside population is 5/16. If people want to see the rest, I can provide.

We should've stopped after episode 14, when the real part of the story was done. But we didn't.... Lost a lot of its sting after that.

Also playlist now goes from manly to progressively less so as it goes along.

Just think.... You get to rage at QB all over again.

Well, they really had to. He sits around, looking faaaaaabulous for most of the show, but does next to nothing. So they might as well have made him camp homosexuell space nazi.

Now excuse me.... I must stab my eyes out after watching Strike Witches II.

Geez, I disappear for 12 hours and everyone causes a ruckus over playlist.....maybe I'll just bring everything and you guys can all fight over it.

As for Modoka, its the TV version, as the BD version will take 6 months to come out. Seitokai, however, IS the BD version

Yeah OK, but to replace it with Madoka!!?!!??! That makes little sense. I wonder how many people still in the room vs outside will be now.

After forcing myself to watch the whole series of Himechen! Otogitic Idol Lil`Pri (and all three series of Shugo Chara some time before that) I decided to swear off the whole Magical Girl genre forever.
I may just have to leave when Madoka comes on.

He's replacing a heavy-handed, brooding show that has some rather sloppy writing (see: that goddamn narration) with a heavy-handed, brooding show that has nothing but sloppy writing (see: everything Gen Urobuchi's done without Nasu glaring at him). It's a fairly logical choice, all things considered.

You know, you could've saved yourself that pain by just watching the magical girl shows that are, well, good. You know, like Futari wa Pretty Cure, Heartcatch Pretty Cure, any incarnation of Sally the Witch or Ikuhara's run on Sailor Moon. Or Angel Blade.

You could drop all magical girl shows altogether and join the realistic football show club Inzuma Eleven, there's nothing wrong deciding the fate of the world by Heaven and Hell playing a game of soccer.
