Playlist - 21st November 2006

by Dhumahn » Tue Nov 14, 2006 2:41 pm

This week's playlist is as follows:

Ah! My Goddess TV 10
Welcome to the N.H.K! 5 (vote) (reminds me of the 'documentary' we showed last OVA night)
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 15 (can't we hurry up this one a little, I want to see the 'dead granny bashing' episode)
Black Lagoon 7
Blood+ 34
Shakugan No Shana 16
xxx-Holic 14
Fate-Stay Night 23 (is there a series 2??)

...enjoy!!!

....and here are some random shots I found
(the title here is "Haruhi meets Higurashi")

Fate/Stay Night will be only 24 eps. I doubt any studio sane enough to make another of it following Unlimited Blade Works story or Heaven's Feel. If they do, then I would be happy as hell. (tut tut TYPEMOON fan geekdom kicking in tut tut)

At lest you haven't spent over $400 on Fate/Stay Night figurines.

Indeed, considering the visuals of the first series was about the only thing that justified its 24 episodes.

You can only name two to five series a year that don't fall victim to that.

And I don't consider Haruhi Suzumiya to be one of them.

What befell F/SN was what befell Tsukihime to an extent. Fine idea, pity about the execution. Compacting what there was down to fewer episodes would probably have improved the show. I certainly think that of Blood+, which just meanders aimlessly a lot of the time with its utterly bloated length.

Should Narooted and Dragonbollocks be considered anime anymore? Normal people watch them. 8)

Many of my cds have died in the name of Naruto. Died, because after watching 60 odd episodes my brain tried to strangle me. I took that as a sign to stop. 8)

Dragonbollocks - Contents:

80% macho posturing
10% wisecracks
5% flying around
4% gorging
1% WWE-style fighting

Dragonbollocks is also 100% unpretentious. Everyone knew it was shallow, repetetive fight show shite, especially the producers.

Unlike Naruto, the popularity of which, even when it became especially and uniquely crap during the filler arcs, just depresses me. Near the end of my tolerance for the show, the plot arc at that point was subverted for another one without completing the original. It was the last time I actually hit my pc in frustration. And did damage. To both myself and the pc.

Buy an Asian chick to wear it, I'm guessing.

More like he'll just buy the figurine... It's kinda hard to find a 1/6 scale asian chick.

It is an expensive hobby. Especially for something that has not much use other than sitting there being eye candy.

Most Japanese girls are 1/6 scale to begin with. Why do you think platforms were such a big hit over there?
