Now where's my LoranBasaraEvin folder when I need it...
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.
It’s commonly known when you look north in Japan East is to your left. Please don’t try to correct that sentence. It lasts only for a second but I wouldn’t expect a mistake like that.

Yeah, even the simplest, well-explained ideas can hurt when you aren't used to thinking. 8)

Since when is time travel simple and well explained? They didn't even show how Mikuru is able to time travel, or how she put Kyon or herself to sleep, and I would hardly call Yuki's explanation 'simple and well explained'. It at least had far fewer holes than most other time travel scenarios I've encountered.

Easy, when they're using and subverting time's arrow theory.
Sufferes wrote:They didn't even show how Mikuru is able to time travel, or how she put Kyon or herself to sleep

They don't need to. It gets in the way of the plot. And is unimportant. It happens, they're there, the end.
Sufferes wrote:and I would hardly call Yuki's explanation 'simple and well explained'.

What, the "I put you into stasis for three years, using my emergency powers" explanation, or the subversion of "information cannot be transported back through time" (time's arrow) when not only she sent her past self information that synched said past self with her current self, or the similar discussion on how sending Kyon back three years lead to the situation he finds himself in, today (giving Haruhi most of the ideas that she put into action)?
Not a lot, there, to ponder over for too long.
Sufferes wrote:It at least had far fewer holes than most other time travel scenarios I've encountered.

Excluding the fact that traveling back in time is likely to break the universe, itself. Cheers. :)

No, the part where Kyon asks her about it, in the clubroom, and she says around ten or so words...

This line, right?

She's saying that axiomatic set theory (Mikuru's time's theory of time travel) can't prove the inconsistencies in itself unless the inconsistencies are there. In other words, Yuki knows full well all the actual repercussions of time travel and Mikuru's superiors only understand a part of it.

Because Yuki hooked up the Integrated Data Entity is hax, man.
Although I don’t know about the directions at 4:51.

The sub I saw summed it up better. It's the same quote as the novel translation too.

Nagato Yuki wrote:"As there is no conclusion to the paradox theory, there is no way to prove that there is no paradox."

In short Kyon thinks accidentally giving Haruhi the idea of going to North High and forming the SOS brigade is a paradox. But the paradox was not completed because Haruhi still doesn't know it was Kyon who helped her with the line markings at "Tanabata three years ago" (remember that date). So as long as Kyon doesn't accidentally reveal to Haruhi that he was "John Smith" the paradox remains open.

Once all the episodes are shown it will make a lot more sense. Or you can read the translation of the books. It's not hard to find at all.
