Playlist - 7th November 2006 - OVA Night

by Dhumahn » Wed Nov 01, 2006 8:58 am

Another OVA night, the last for the year.

At this point, what is being played is still up in the air, however I know of at least two things that will be playing on the night:

Iriya no Sora - UFO no Natsu OVA 6 (Final)
School Rumble ni Gakki 4

As for the rest, wait and see.

I suggest a BBC documentary on Otaku for something different from usual fare.

That documentary series episode was quite amusing, though kinda lost its way somewhere along the line when it decided to (needlessly) follow that band that was having its first Japanese national tour.... The only reason I can think for the segment being included is so we could watch the band members eating raw eyeballs.

Sheep's and cow's eyes used to be considered delicacies in European socities. Why would someone eating animal eyeballs be weird considering the parts of animals people currently eat as delicacies or everyday items?

There was also a time when sugar was sterilized with cows blood. That doesn't mean it was a good idea. Why people have ever eaten animals' eyeballs is beyond me (apart from famine forcing people to eat every unpalatable thing available), even moreso why people were stupid enough to actually like eating them enough to regard them as a delicacy. I would've said that it was because our ancestors were congenital idiots, if not for the fact that said congenital idiocy has been inbred into all of today's generations....

There is only one thing I can say as me reaction after reading this:
