Outback trip in reverse stuns police

by Morphis » Sun Oct 08, 2006 1:14 am

Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day,
Set him on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life. :p

What the hell was he thinking?

We should probably look at whether or not he was thinking at all. That can't have been good for the car.

as strange as this reply sounds ... be glad Australia that you posses such fine roads that permit such newsmaking stints .

I'll speculate that in many countries ... there's next to no mileage where :
a) it isnt packed with people driving properly
b) other people aren't driving on it at all
c) because its so sparse , that guy could chance it to make a record .
I must feel proud about the things I choose ...,

That's nothing. They drive worse than that in Italy every day. 8)

If my transmission failed in the outback, and all I had was reverse I think I'd do the same as him. Except for the 80kph bit. 8)

Resident tank enthusiast. See me for racist and opinionated storytelling and vaguely accurate historical tank warfare-themed rants.

I'll add with city driving in Spain tht I've seen ...

some1 reverses their way out of parking to dent into another person's car (which was unoccupied at the time) perpendicularly . Then proceeds to casually drive of .

Yep, that's pretty much the tip of the iceberg, going by what I've heard from Italian friends. 8)

Athens is a nightmare for driving and traffic. It drove my mum insane when she went to a conference there earlier this year. Thankfully the soundproofed plate-glass windows allowed her to sleep properly.
Disgusting...
